Very poor customer service at Park at the Crest Apartments

I I got to tell you about our very poor customer service experience yesterday.

We went looking for an apartment. When we got to the third apartment’s leasing office, this office personnel was on the phone. We can hear her from the lobby. So I went to let her know that we were there. Then I said, “Hi, we would like to inquire.” She said, “What?” In a very rude way. So I said it again in a very slow tone, “We would like to inquire.”

She said, “Ah ok” and went with her sales pitch. And then she said, “do you want to look at our apartments?” We said, “Yes” .

So she told us, “Ok can I have you driver’s license? And here’s the key, go to that building right there, it’s on the 3rd floor, room 137. You won’t get lost just in that building. Don’t worry I have your drivers license.”

In my brain? What! This is BS! She doesn’t have anybody else in the office but that personal phone call and she didn’t have any intention to accompany us to this model unit? This is our first time in Florida and you treat us like that. We are their future residents who will give them our hard earned money so that this lazy and inadequate personnel can have her salary, and you treat us like that!?

Yeah, we went and saw that model unit, but SHIT! I don’t want to live there.

Gosh! Whatever happened to “CUSTOMER SERVICE”!

Hi Everyone! Hope everybody’s doing well

It’s been a while since I posted anything here. My life has changed a lot since I graduated from Le Cordon Bleu last March. I became a Cook at a Childrens’ Center at Brentwood. I loved my job. I cooked food for 250-125 people at one time. The challenge was making it look good and of course taste good.

It was a school for kids who were authentic, orphans, or disturbed kids. I know all our resident kids names. Including their staffs. Loved that job. Love cooking in general.

But, life changes. My husband took a job offer here in Fort Myers, Florida. So, we are here now. Got here last week.

Yeah, I quit my job there.

What struck me the most here is the growth of this place. We all know that Florida and Las Vegas are now experience the worst downfall in terms of real estate. But the growth here in small business are booming. Because people/retirees come here to spend their vacation during snow time in other state. They make a lot of money from the tourists. Including tourists from another country, like Europe and Canada. (We hear a lot of them all over the shopping centers)

With this, I am so excited because I see a lot of opportunities here, in terms of helping business owners make more money by taking care of their business, and their employees, their most important asset.

I’ll be keeping in touch!

Book Review for Julie and Julia

Julie and Julia

by Julie Powell

First and foremost I got to say that the book is 75% different from how they made the movie. I really appreciate the three attitudes that were highlighted on the book: 1) frank, 2)candid and 3) vulnerably brave. Let me explain why. On the writers frankness. Clearly, Julie Powell is not that sweet, super crying baby that they showed on the movie. She was brutally honest on everything that she felt. As she quote this. “The Contender:
Government drone by day, renegade foodie by night. Too old for theatre, too young for children, and too bitter for anything else, Julie Powell was looking for a challenge. And in the Julie/Julia project she found it. Risking her marriage, her job, and her cats’ well-being, she has signed on for a deranged assignment.” For me “risking her marriage, her job and her well being for a deranged assignment” was a very revealing statement. Specially when she didn’t know how this project is going to end. I can totally related to that because I risked everything too to be where I am right now. My family, my friends and my everything were all left in the Philippines to venture my life here in the United States. And I know, like Julie it’s never easy, and it will never be to open up yourself to something that is not your comfort zone.

Secondly, the book is so candid, I can’t stop laughing on how she just mentioned fowl word F_ _ _ all the time. I know it’s not funny but the way she says it in almost every sentence is undeniably funny. In fact, one of her bloggers posted a comment on her blog saying, “If you only stop saying fuck too much.” Ofcourse, she never stopped saying it. She just say it as it is. Another candid part of the movie that made me laugh unexpectedly was when she didn’t hesitate sharing her childhood story about his father’s book. She described it as “plain black clothbound book at the very rear of the deep cabinet, kept spine down so the title was hidden.” It was actually a sex book that she had been reading alternately if she wasn’t scanning Julia Child’s cookbook. She showed us that everyone has fantasies. And it’s true. You just have to know the boundaries of those fantasies.

The last but not the least is this book showed and amazing mix of vulnerable yet brave personality of Julie Powell. Which I literally have. Until I wrote this book report, I never thought I could mix this two words “vulnerable and brave.” Why did I chose this two words? Well, she was never afraid to tell everyone her failures. Specifically when she admitted that after the 365 days of her cooking project, she “still confuse easy with simple” when she just neglect the fact that you can not make mayonnaise using food processor instead use your hands to whisk it. She was brave because eventhough she doesn’t really know who reads her blog or who cares about what she’s doing, she just bravely put it there anyway.

I feel that this book is going to be loved by people who like me wants a direct-to-the-point story without any “roaming around the bush” style of writing. It specially influenced me to move on with my culinary career because it’s very clear that Julie Powell and Julia Child found their bliss through cooking for their beloved husbands. Thus feeding their soul with everyday accomplishment brought by instant gratification of “eating” not just good but “great food” freshly made out of their own kitchen.

The last chapter of the book showed how she is now reaping her success from being 1) frank, 2)candid and 3) vulnerably brave. She quoted, “Two years ago, I was a twenty-nine-year-old secretary. Now I am a thirty-one-year-old writer. I get paid very well to sit around in my pajamas and type on my ridiculously fancy iMac, unless I’d rather take a nap. Feel free to hate me—I certainly would.” Who would know that it would be this successful from starting a “no purpose project”. I don’t mind having that kind of success too. That’s the reason why I am making sure that I suck all the knowledge that I can get from school everyday.

Yesterday was one of those days…

Yesterday was one of those days…

Yesterday was one of those days that even if I already planned everything and wrote everything there were still a lot of thoughts, ideas, and everything floating around my brain. I was driving going to the Vet Hospital with my one and only Shih Tzu son, and boy my brain was running like 90 miles per hour!

That wasn’t fun! Because I felt the “RUSH” and the “COMMOTION” inside my brain that affected the way I was driving.

Oh well, nothing bad happened. It’s just that when this happens, what I do is take a deep breathe and get my DIGITAL RECORDER that I always carry with my in my purse. So I recorded everything in there. I usually start with the date, the time and what I am doing while I am recording that moment. Then, after I say everything that’s on my mind, I make sure I saved that record, close or turn off the recorder and forget everything. That really cleared my mind!

Then after we went to the vet, Ando and I had a good walk, and I allowed myself, gave myself a permission to relax and free my mind of anything that moment. Because I already saved it in my recorded. “Record it and forget it.”

Then, we went home so I can prepare to go to work in 45 mins. When I am at work, (I am a Weight Management Consultant), I am at work. I do everything that I have to do to perform well in my job to give clients my undivided attention, being in the moment with them to have full customer satisfaction.

When I go out from work, I leave everything in my office in relation to work. I know, it’s hard to do. I didn’t know how to do that before. But you know what, just do it! Just don’t think of anything else about work when you get home. Give your undivided attention to your family. Now, I can’t forget to talk about my office mates of course.  My husband and I talk about how goofy, how pathetic some of our office mates are, and just having fun.

You have a life after your work!

My point is, ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE IN THE MOMENT WHERE EVER YOU ARE, SO YOU CAN AND WILL HAVE FUN.

This will only happen if you know HOW TO PRIORITIZE. Take a look at how our Simply Effective Planner can help you with this. http://www.simplyeffectiveplanner.com.
