Failures leading to Success in America…
Since I came here in the United States on March 27, 2007, I have been through a lot of FAILURES.
1st, on my driving test, eventhough I have been driving 5 speed in the Philippines for 5 years before I came here, yet I still failed the driving test 4 times. On the 5th attempt I finally got the passing score of 75 just enough to get the license.
2nd is the Real Estate Business that I started failed. I created an LLC with my husband to help distress property owners save their houses (http://mifreedomrealestate.com/). But because of the economy and all the mixed situations it failed to produce income.
3rd, We created another Real Estate LLC with my business partner Nancy but it failed again. Although we sold 12 houses Lease Option but it was never enough to cover our business operating expenses. The sellers and the tenant buyers that we helped ended up blaming us for their own situation instead of showing appreciation for the help that we gave them. Oh Well! Nancy and I parted in a good way because we both have decided to move on and take care of our own families.
These 3 Big Failures that I had created for 3 years that I have been here in the US opened up a great opportunity and chance for me to channel my business ideas. Through these blogsites (1) http://www.PoTPhils.wordpress.com – this is a blogsite I created for for Filipinos living Outside the Philippines who wants to communicate and relate with someone who can understand and someone who have been through what they are experiencing right now.
(2) This blogsite http://www.erforme.wordpress.com
We created this blogsite to help Entrepreneurs like us get their life back again by applying our Simply Effective Planning System. I am now in the process of revising the look of the planner so it will be more efficient. To help BUSY MOMS and BUSY INDIVIDUALS like me.
I know it’s a lot to handle, (because I go to school in the morning, and I work in the afternoon and ofcourse I am a responsible wife and mother to our 2 cute dogs) but with Prioritizing using our system, I can pull this through. My objective – is to HELP BUSY INDIVIDUALS APPLY THE LIMITATION AND CHOICE in their daily lives with the wisdom of implementing “DO LESS, ACHIEVE MORE AND GAIN FREEDOM FROM YOUR DAILY CHAOTIC LIFE.”
I do believe that you can never be successful in life if you didn’t have failures in life. Failures make us learn how to deal with life and it make our Accomplishments more REWARDING!
If anyone
Has it ever happened to you?
Has it ever happened to you when you scheduled something to do that day, that time and that moment, yet you end up doing something else and at the end of the day feeling unaccomplished?
Yes it happened to me before every single time. I would say 75%. Now it still happens to me, but just 90%. I leave the 10% for myself to identify the tasks if it’s worth doing or not (while I am in that very moment). You don’t have to have a fully booked day all the time.
You can have schedule a “Free Day” in your planner. While having a peace of mind that you have already scheduled what are the most important thing to do on the following day.
That’s the beauty of the Simply Effective Planner http://www.simplyeffectiveplanner.com
Result for the day :)
It doesn’t have to be perfect but I feel good because I did a lot today
If I didn’t prioritize, I would have done as much as I could
As we speak the last batch of the laundry is rollin’ and I am ironing my uniform for tomorrow
Goodnight!
This is my schedule, yesterday
Focused, simple and limited… because I apply the power of choice and limitation.
I can’t do everything in the whole day…. Same as I can’t eat the whole cake at once….
How do you eat it? Eat it one slice at a time. So should be our daily lives. So we can still be happy while being productive…
It’s been a week since I posted something…
Yeah, it’s been a week since I posted something. My life went crazy!
Prioritizing is the key and silence is also a big help!
As an entrepreneur, a full time employee, a wife, a student, a toastmaster and all those watchamacallit hat that I wear everyday, my life went totally nuts for a week. Concerns in the Philippines, my priorities changed, my job, just everything just went crazy!
I really learned a 3 very important lessons this week, 1) Silence. Just allowing yourself to free your mind and not think of anything. 2) Allowing yourself to say “I don’t know” too. 3) And most importantly, PRAY. Acknowledge that there is SOMEONE ABOVE GREATER THAN US who is ready to help us once we open up our line of communication to him.
It’s very normal for us as entrepreneurs to always want to have an answer on everything. It’s very normal for us entrepreneurs to be control freaks. But we don’t have to be like this all time. Again, allow yourself to shut off, to hybernate to be SILENT.
So now I am back to me again. Back to be me again.
P.S.
By the way, in order for me to hybernate, I didn’t write anything on my planner aside from my full time job schedule.
Didn’t write a single task after that. That helped me a lot! You don’t have to always do something everyday. Give yourself a BREAK!
Love yourself! When you love yourself, everything will fall into places nicely.
